Following II
There have been several recent posts on Lee Lefever's blog site. One of the most interesting, was the addition of two new companies who make 'how to' movies similar to what Lee does. I investigated further, by going to http://www.animatedexplanations.com, which is a company based in Belgium and focuses on the European and global market. Their site is very easy to navigate and there is even a search engine that allows a person to see if there are videos pertaining to their subject. I looked up internet security, and found a cool video on how to create a secure password. I found this video to be a nice reminder on how to create a password that will protect my personal information. This video would also be good to use with students at an early age, to help them understand the importance of securing their information and how to do it. I recommend checking out this site for anyone who enjoyed Lee's videos. :)

I forgot to add, that at the end of the video, it allows you to test your current passwords and see if they are secure or not. The video has a disclaimer saying that your password is not saved by them; I did it, and mine was extremely secure.
ReplyDeleteTeaching children how to secure their passwords is a good idea, and it is nice to test to see that the ones we currently use are safe or not. Some sights rate your password as you create accounts, but not all sites do.
ReplyDeleteNice find!
ReplyDeleteThe other piece about passwords is when to create unique passwords for a given site/application and when to reuse. My 2 email accounts (home and work) have unique passwords that I use nowhere else. Why is that?
I believe the reason not to reuse email passwords for work and personal accounts, would be because a work account is generally linked to highly sensitive personal and company related information that you would not want anyone to be able to access. Thus, a personal email account has a separate password from the work one.
